            Collin Hamman

Freelance Artist and Graphic Designer in Kalispell, MT

            Drawn From the Present

            PRESENTED ON APR 05, 2019
            IN KALISPELL @ VOL 7

Collin Hamman never takes his time for granted and makes a point of using each moment as a possibility for inspration. His graphic design and illustrations are heavily influenced by his time spent in the wilderness of Montana where he sees constant opportunity for the next t-shirt, logo, or printed design work that may come his way. Being self-employed as an artist is never easy, but when you mix pleasure with work the way Collin does, you will always come away fulfilled.

Nymphs, Duns, and Spinners: the Making of a Hatch Guide

            BY ANN MILLER
            @ VOL 4 ON FEB 11, 2016

Ann Miller has a love for bugs & fishing, who knew! And she tells us all about it in 6.6 minutes.

Ann’s most recent project stemmed from her love of fly fishing and teaching. While teaching beginning and intermediate fly fishing schools, she became frustrated with the lack of comprehensive Midwest information on insect hatches, taxonomy, behavior, and flies to match them. An aquatic biologist, she decided to tackle the world of bugs head on, and the result is the Hatch Guide for Upper Midwest Streams. The field guide was published in January, 2012 (Frank Amato Publications).

            Closing the Outdoor Knowledge Gap

            BY DAVID STEELE
            @ VOL 6 ON NOV 01, 2018

For those who grow up in the outdoors, it comes easy. It is much easier to be a competent skiier, or climber, or adventurer if you come at it from an early age. Yet contrary to popular belief, David Steele shows that old dogs CAN learn new tricks. The great benefit to a person trying something new is people who have been on that path before themselves. David shows that life can be challangeing and exciting for all of us at all stages of the journey, no matter if you are a cohort, a mentor, or an up-and-comer.
